Irish Sea Express
The Irish Sea Express ferry service running between Dublin and Liverpool ceased operation on 8th October 2005.
Having carried up to 60,000 passengers from May 2005, a surge in fuel costs and competition from other ferry operators was blamed for the collapse. As yet, the fast ferry service has not been replaced but there is no shortage of alternatives. P&O Irish Sea operate a year round service between Dublin and Liverpool with conventional ferries. For more information or to book this service online, please click on the P&O Irish Sea link on the right of this page. Other options include sailings from Dublin and Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead with Irish Ferries and Stena Line.
