Nokdong Guide

Nokdong Ferry Port

Situated on the south coast of South Korea, Nokdong is a very small town bordering the Jeju Strait. The only ferry route departing the port is to the island of Jeju, laying south of the country, crossing seven times per week and lasting for 3 hours 40 minutes.

What is there to do in Nokdong?

Primarily used as a base for travelling between neighbouring islands, Nokdong is a very small town with a population of around 15,000 people. Due to the small population and lack of constant tourism, the town holds a sleepy, relaxed atmosphere where the dominant activity revolves around the widely regarded fish markets. The surrounding landscape is pleasant enough to embark on a leisurely stroll and snap a few photos of the picturesque scenery. As well as the aesthetically pleasing environment, there are a few notable landmarks and attractions dotted around the town. The Ssangchung Temple and Doyang Coastal Way are well worth a visit, but the most popular attraction is Sorokdo Park which is the perfect place to while away a few hours amid beautiful surroundings and enjoyable sunshine.

How do visitors get around Nokdong?

The town is small enough to cover entirely by foot, which is the desirable option considering the clean streets and fine weather.
