Cork ferry port or Ringaskiddy ferry port as it's also known is located on the South Coast of Ireland about 30 minutes from the city centre. Although in the past Cork ferry port has had a crossing to Swansea, currently the only ferry crossing in operation is with Brittany Ferries on the service to Roscoff in France. Cork port has made impressive strides in recent decades and since the dawn of the millennium has invested €72 million in improving infrastructure and facilities. The port attracts both ferry passengers and cruise passengers on average there are over 100,000 passengers and crew arriving and departing through the port each year. These high visitor numbers contribute greatly to the local economy and provide much needed employment in the region.
Santander is a Spanish port city situated on the Atlantic North coast. The ferry port is located very close to the centre of Santander, not far by walk from the main square and the railway station. The city is located between Gijon and Bilbao which like Santander feature regular connections to the south coast of England. Close to Santander, don't miss in Comillas 'El Capricho', a building by Antoni Gaudí.
