The island of Corfu is situated in the north western part of Greece, where the Adriatic Sea meets the north Ionian Sea. Sami can be found on the east side of the popular island of Kefalonia (or Cephalonia as its also know) in the Ionian Island region of Greece. The beautiful coastal town of Sami is around 24 km east of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia and provides the island with its second largest port with numerous crossings on offer. The modern village is built close to ancient Sami, one of the most important archeological discoveries of Kefalonia.
