Datca Port borders the Aegean Sea and is regarded as Turkey’s most southwestern district; its bays and coves stretch for nearly 100km along the west coast. The peninsula is renowned for its green seas, endless olive groves and deserted beaches, making it one of the most unique places to visit in Turkey. For those that enjoy seafood, there are some excellent fish taverns near the harbour. The only ferry route to depart from Datca is the crossing to Bodrum provided by Bodrum Ferryboat, lasting around 2 hours 30 minutes. The sailing runs only three times a week, leaving in the morning on Wednesday and Friday and late in the afternoon on Sunday. The return crossings all depart in the morning. The ferry route is often inconsistent so it’s worthwhile checking for live updates.
