Operated by Golden Star Ferries
Golden Star’s Superferry allows up to 1,760 passengers to make the smooth sailing on each of its crossings. As well as the large volume of people, there's also room for a further 300 vehicles on the lower garage deck, with the stabilised ship travelling at speeds of up to 23 knots.
This fully air conditioned and modern ship has all you need during your journey, including cabin accommodation, airline style seating, various options of food and drink outlets, shops, entertainment services and public Wi-Fi. The vessel is pet friendly and is specially adapted throughout for those passengers with restricted mobility.
It’s easy to relax aboard the Superferry with ample comfortable seating and serviced cabin accommodation. The airline styled seats, situated throughout the decks, offer you the chance to sit back and take in the picturesque sea views. If you want a little more privacy, or maybe put your feet up and grab some sleep, cabin accommodation is available to book. On board there are specially adapted rooms for travellers with restricted mobility and if you choose to travel with your furry friend, there are pet friendly rooms.
Aboard you’ll find the Golden Café. Here you can purchase barista style coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic options, as well as a range of meals and snacks. This is not the only outlet available. The Open Deck Bar will provide you with the chance to eat and drink outside, taking in both the stunning vistas and unclouded climate whilst you quench your first and quell your hunger.
If you are in need of some holiday essentials, souvenirs for family and friends or even just a treat for yourself, then you can purchase these in the ship’s shop. You’ll also find the usual magazines, confectionery and other small items available to buy. The store also sells traditional local products if you want to immerse yourself into the native culture.
Satellite televisions are situated in the lounges and seating areas on this state of the art fast ferry, allowing you to sit back in the comfy seats and while away the hours in front of the various screens. There is Wi-Fi provided to those who travel, meaning you don’t have to lose touch with those in the outside world, fall behind on work or miss out the latest news and entertainment. It’s not just the human passengers who are looked after on board, kennels are provided for those owners who want their four legged friends to be cared for during the journey.
Young voyagers will have plenty to help pass the time with their very own designated Kids’ Corner.
The ferry is adapted to cater for those on board with restricted mobility. There are elevators and escalators to help move between decks and arrange of specific cabin accommodation for passengers with special requirements.

"Golden star from Heraklion to santorini"
Our passage booked for 29/09 cancelled- no complaints there. Went to the office on Sunday 30, at the time of the next scheduled sailing to get information. People were arriving for their sailing and the office was closed with no one there to give information. People just left high and dry, not knowing what to do. Disgraceful. The sailing is advertised in brochures as 2 and a half hours but it took 4 hours. All the toilets blocked. First sailing for several days - surely they should have been fixed in that time

"Santorini"
A first class vessel. Chaos at Mykenos port prior to departure with so many people trying to get onto so many sailings but once underway on the correct vessel, a very pleasant 5 hours with stunning scenery. Ample space for all and a chance to see some of the other islands en route. The arrival at Sanntorini is spectacular.

"Great trip"
Catching the ferry from Santorini to Crete was comfortable, easy and everything you needed for a short journey. There was food on board but only for the start of the journey so if you are buying food on board go to the shop early. One of the staff members was a little rude when I asked about serving food later on but other than that it was a pleasent journey.
