Devonport Port is ideally located just 12 minutes away from the world renowned city of Auckland, found on the south coast of a peninsula that runs southeast from near lake Papuke. It is home to the Devonport Naval base of the Royal New Zealand Navy and it’s best known for the extravagant dining and drinking establishments found on the harbour. The ferry route to Auckland runs frequently throughout the day, with crossings every 15 minutes. The crossings start in the early morning and terminate late in the evening, running for approximately 18 hours a day. There are several bus routes that will drop passengers at the ferry terminal, located at the end of Victoria Road. The ferry route is a great opportunity to view the inner Auckland Harbour as well as the Peninsula of Devonport.
