The Swedish city of Stromstad is located in Stromstad Municipality in Vastra Gotaland, by the mouth of the River Stromsan, and can trace its history back to the 16th century. Many were built at the end of the 18th century and during the 19th century. The city's only remaining cobbled street, Buktegaten, is in this area and according to local legend the women who lived in the houses along the street carried all the stones there themselves.
