Tangier Guide

Tangier Ferry Port

Tangier is a port city located in the Northern coast of Morocco. The port is in the heart of the city and just a few minutes from the amazing ancient medina of Tangier. Tangier is not the main port in the area and most ferry companies moved their crossings to the newer port of Tangier Med when it opened some years ago. Tangier port does however still offer daily connections with Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar. The Cafe Hafa in Tangier is a fantastic place to enjoy see views. From the terrace you can even see the Spanish coast when the weather is nice. The mint tea is worth a try!

Gibraltar Ferry Port

Gibraltar ferry port provides sailings to Morocco serving the biggest port of North Africa, Tangier Med. In 2009 it was decided to launch a ferry service between Gibraltar and Algeciras, the first time in 40 years the cities on either side of the Bay of Gibraltar where linked by sea. The name Gibraltar refers to the famous rock and comes from the Arabic translation of Jebel Tariq (Mountain of Tariq). Before, it was also known as a pillar of Hercules.
