The city of Vlora (or Vlorë) is located on the southwest coast of Albania, at the southern end of the Adriatic Sea. It is currently the second largest port city in Albania and for a brief time was the capital of the country. Vlora is famed for being the city where the Albanian Declaration of Independence was proclaimed in 1912. Vlora boasts a picturesque coastline, wonderful beaches with clear pristine waters and is touted by locals as the foundation for the country's tourism industry.
As a cultural, commercial and administrative centre, Bari is a major ferry port in the Southern part of the Adriatic Sea.
