  • "Ship Great - Don't use Direct Ferries and just pray you don't need to contact P&O customer service."

Absolutely no problem with the Ship itself but do not book via Direct Ferries. I was due to travel back on Sunday 20th Feb but 30 mins before I was due to leave for the Port, I received a text from P&O warning of sever weather warnings, rough seas and an 8 hour delay to arrival time in Rotterdam. No problem I thought, I'll call them to re-arrange rather than risk my life on a Ferry during a storm. Called P&O, plenty of room on the ship but they can't amend the booking as it was booked via Direct Ferries so I need to call them. Direct Ferries customer services closed on a weekend so emailed, no response. Get to Monday to see if they can amend my booking for that evening, telephone number now "having technical issues" so I called P&O, on hold for over an hour at which point I had to make a separate booking online otherwise I would have not arrived at the Port on time. 550GBP later finally made it home then next day.

  • "Car purchase"

I have just purchased a classic car from Holland which has been quite chaotic and the ferry trip was one of my biggest fears, but the staff / crew on board were so helpfull it made my trip so much easier that I though it was going to be, even through a massive storm. Thank you so much.

  • "So much more than I expected"

Having only been on the Isle of Man ferry (steam packet) I had a picture in my mind of what to expect, we boarded the hull to Rotterdam ferry from P&O and where amazed by the bars, restaurants, casino, cinema etc. The staff where fantastic, always very polite and accommodating. On board prices are reasonable and similar to home. We upgraded to a club room, what a difference! Well worth the upgrade. I will hopefully be coming back soon and having experienced a P&O ferry, I would like to experience a cruise. We where told what we experienced was a fairly rough crossing, force 8 gales and swell. This was not uncomfortable and I got used to it fairly quick.

  • "Comfortable and safe crossing"

My wife and I crossed from Rotterdam to Hull, and two weeks later from Hull to Rotterdam. We decided to upgrade to the premium cabin which is so much more comfortable than the standard bunk beds. The ferry had taken all necessary precautions against Covid-19, and we felt a lot safer that we would have been on transport by air. The staff are always friendly and helpful. To avoid crowding, we brought our own food and drink rather than using the catering facilities.

  • "Another easy voyage"

Much prefer taking this slow route back to the UK. No big queues, no hassle, lots of conveniences on board, nice cabins for a good kip and bars, music and outside decks to enjoy. Coach from Rotterdam not running to the port yet adds to the price but otherwise nice and easy. Staff are very good and attentive.

Travel in style and save driving up/down England. Costs a little but only the same as an overnight stay and you can relax and eat dinner on board. Wake up fresh and eat a good breakfast before continuing your journey.

  • "family fun mini break"

Our party included 4 adults 1 child and 1 infant. From arriving at the port in Hull to boarding the ferry it was stress free and far easier with little ones compared with flying. Can't fault the entertainment with child play area, live music, televised football. Drinks were reasonably priced. The cabins were compact and well equipped for a short stay. If you prefer more space would recommend paying for a larger room. Had a great day in Rotterdam visiting the zoo which I would definitely recommend for those with children. The sea was a little rough but can't do much about that. Will be sure to book again in the near future for a short get away.

I have used this crossing before and I wasn't disappointed this time either. The facilities on the ship are very good and provide everything you could want for an entertaining crossing as well as something that needs to be done. The crew were all extremely polite, helpful and friendly. The cabins are clean and plenty big enough for an overnight crossing.

  • "Everything was excellend but pet freindly cabins missing"

We travelled around the EU and for instance in Italy whatever ferry (day or overnight) we were taking allowed us to take our Border Collie inside specially prepared pet friendly cabin without any issues. They are much more relaxed and pet friendly than UK claim to be. They really love animals and other people enjoyed their company too (always welcoming them with a smile and friendliness which in most cases was returned by animals so we all had a good time). We did not come across anyone who was scared, upset or acted inappropriately unlike in western Europe. I suppose it's owners' merit who also know how to responsibly handle pets in particular when they're not as friendly towards humans or other pets. My dog loves people and had a hard time sleeping in a kennel, in the dark with other dogs barking due to car alarms going off pretty much all night due to rough sea. I will probably catch a 1.5 hour ferry next time instead.

  • "Nice crossing - beware of maritime network charges"

The band "Riptide" was playing and they were great, our bedroom with toilet and shower was nice and warm. Please remember to turn your data off on your mobile as I forgot and it charged me during the night on the maritime network, I wasn't even using my mobile... Also we queued for nearly an hour when we got out of the ship in Hull to go through passport checks...
