Considering we missed the outward trip due to traffic and had to change then home trip due to a funeral the staff were always helpful - even when the new home trip was cancelled due to a fault - we were kept informed.

  • "Simple to book, nice to work with and great service "

holiday, a time to relax and unwind, but travelling can be the worst than the stress you are getting away from. However, direct ferries and Stena seems to always make the journey stress free. We pulled into the wrong booth when going on the ferry, the young man working there didn't ask me to change lane or berate my error, he simply went to the correct booth for me and we boarded.. On the return trip, the boarding was easy and we were greeted, on first name terms. this is the second time we have travelled to Ireland with Direct Ferries and Stena Line this year and the third time using them (DF) for going abroad and so far, its been a delight. whatever they do or how they do it, I cannot say, but the experience is always great and we are booking Christmas with DF and Stena Line at the weekend. no more flying to Ireland, its not worth the airport hassle. (however one minor and i don't want to include this in the review but i had 3 bites after sleeping in the cabin, it might have been the bed but i cannot say, that was the only downside, which is annoying because everything else was good)

  • "Irish music weekend "

The ships were great, very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Disembarkation in Dublin was a total shambles mainly due to the ridiculous port access and egress system, it took a whole hour to get into the port tunnel after docking.

  • "Lovely trip"

Both sailings to and from Eire absolutely wonderful with services first class. Only negative is to do with fellow passengers, staff need to walk around and to have authority to make people not lye on seats or taking up extra for bags etc as warnings over tannoy are totally ignored.

  • "A PLEASURE"

I was travelling as part of a band and was transporting a number of instruments for those musicians who flew. Both sailings were on time (Unlike the flights), for both sailings I had internet and was able to walk around freely (unlike those on the flights). I was able to step out and get fresh air (Unlike those on the flights), the staff were very accommodating and helpful (Unlike those on the flights), I was able to stretch out and snooze (Unlike those on the flights) and in reality it took almost as much time as the flights when you consider their check in times, security and other delays. The only draw back was price and that's market dictated. I still love to travel by ferry though and look forward to doing it again in the future.

  • "Easy booking with lots of options"

Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of direction so you know where to go while moving around the port. The food areas were kept very tidy despite being busy. Plenty of toilets and facilities which were also clean. Only gripe was the quality of the food. Meals are quite expensive so you expect a higher standard but I have had better at a wetherspoons for half the price.

A no hassle booking but trying to get in touch with direct ferries is a nightmare. The wrong contact number on line even Stena had the wrong contact number. I had to change my homeward journey at Stena services on my outward sailing. Brilliant staff. Stena 5 stars direct Ferries 2 stars

  • "Family Trip"

It was really good sailing both time, the ship was clean. Only issue we seen a sign for free refills when you bought a hot drink and after buying one we was told it was small cup and we would need to pay for that cup to get the offer. Also the shop closes early and there was not a full menu on the late boat. But the staff were very helpful and we would use stena line again.

  • "Pleasant and simple ferry trip over to Dublin"

I took the Stena Line Adventurer to Dublin from Holyhead as a foot passenger, with the journey taking around 3 and a quarter hours and generally being on time. The facilities were plentiful across two decks and generally good, with a variety of food which was decently priced and a serviceable bar. There was more than enough seating and space on board. Apart from the foot passengers having to wait a little bit long to depart after we reached Dublin this was a smooth and pleasant journey.

  • "There and back again"

Outward bound truly 1st class. Hats off to the staff. Return from Dublin, disappointing. We paid for Stena plus and on the crossing to Dublin on the Adventurer, everyone was made a fuss off, allocated a designated toilet and received preferential treatment in getting down to the car deck to leave. In contrast, the return trip on the Superfast was a let down. Catering still did stirling work but the overall level of service dipped significantly. None-allocated toilet. No preferential approach to getting down to the car deck. Little attention paid to who entered the lounge and it seemed to us one passenger tailgated during the trip to enjoy the freebie nibbles and drinks and appeared the worse for wear. He left shortly before arrival in Holyhead much to the relief of those of us around him.
