Valverde is a municipality in the Canary Islands in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The town, which is located on the north east coast of the island of El Hierro, is the smallest capital in the Canary Islands and the only one that lies on the coast. The city's climate, which is generally mild all year round and where summers are warm and winters are cold, make it a popular destination for tourists. That said, the city doesn't have huge amounts to offer and sits on top of a windy mountain ridge that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. However, on a clear day there are some wonderful views to be had from the town and on the occasional day it is possible to see Tenerife's El Teide and La Gomera from the town centre.
